Burley Village Cinema - Treasurer’s 2020 Report
2020 began well with pleasing audience numbers of 66 in February (Downton Abbey) and 65 in March (Official Secrets), both significantly above our financial break-even attendance requirement of 56. Those two films each generated an overall surplus, including refreshment sales profits, of approximately £60. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, no further films were shown during the year and it is impossible to predict when screenings will recommence.
The only significant expense for the year was the accumulated repayment of £196 for the monthly advertising posters produced during 2019 and 2020.
The cumulative surplus remains healthy and currently stands at £1,258 (2019, £1,354), represented by £778 Income and Expenditure Account plus the Reserve Fund of £480.
