Burley Village Cinema - Treasurer’s 2018 Report
The last year to 31st December 2018 for BVC can be described as flat. The Income and Expenditure Account shows an overall small loss of £35 for the 10 films shown (2017 surplus, £452). The average audience was 54 (2017, 57). An attendance of 54 is required for break-even, and during the year ranged from 71 (The Greatest Showman) to 28 (The Levelling).
We need to take into consideration last year’s ticket price reduction to £5. You may remember the price previously was £5.50 in advance or £6 on the door. Had we kept those prices then last year’s ticket sales would have been approximately £430 higher.
Expenses comprised a door to door leaflet drop advertising exercise and providing complimentary mulled wine and mince pies at the December film.
The cumulative surplus now stands at £1,619 (2017, £1,654), (£1,139 Inc. and Exp. Account plus the Reserve Fund of £480).
